All police offices in Dumfries and Galloway keep an up to date record of property lost and found in the local area. Any enquiries regarding lost or found property should, therefore, be directed to the local police office in the first instance.

Police retain all found property for a period of two months to allow time for the loser to claim it. If the property is not claimed during this time the police will dispose of it either by returning it to the finder, or by selling it, or otherwise as directed by the Chief Constable.

You can now report lost property via the Police Scotland website at www.scotland.police.uk

Enter 'reporting lost property' in the search box and follow the links.
